Inclusive Goal

Student Needs

All staff at ASB aim to support a variety of student needs, including learning needs, gifted and talented needs, ESL needs, and social-emotional needs.

Communication

Open and respectful communication helps students advocate for their needs.

Differentiation

Teachers provide varied methods, flexible groups, differentiated instruction, and assessment.

Safe Environment

Clear routines, clear expectations, accommodations, and support help students access learning.

Inclusive Practices

ASB recognizes that students have different educational and learning needs, abilities, profiles, and aspirations. Differentiation and scaffolding promote effective learning, and students gain knowledge and skills at different rates through different means.

Professional development training on inclusive practices and differentiation is delivered during staff orientation, Wednesday afternoon workshops, and other internal and external learning opportunities.
